Tamro

Regulations

As a pharmaceutical distributor, we must comply with many rules and standards. Tamro follows the following regulations: GDP (Good Distribution Practice), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and GCP (Good Clinical Practice).

Emergency and safety

It is our job to safeguard pharmaceutical supply - in any situation. Throughout our entire company, there is a well worked out system designed to serve as a support in the event of an incident.

Quality is a matter of attitude

Pharmaceutical distribution requires a high level of responsibility, not least because of the products sensitivity during handling, storage and transport. Tamro handles an average of 12,500 articles - from headache pills to life-saving vaccines.

We distribute stoma and diabetic aids, as well as non-prescription products such as toothpaste and shampoo, to all pharmacies throughout Sweden. We supply medical devices to County Council depots, hospitals and other healthcare establishments. We distribute healthcare products to healthcare retailers, and supply certain products to veterinarians in Sweden.

All these goods are sensitive and delicate in various ways, and require careful handling by responsible and skilled employees. Our activities are subject to hundreds of restrictions and regulations. However, rules and standards alone do not ensure high quality. For us, quality is a matter of attitude.

Ongoing improvement efforts

As a pharmaceutical distributor, we must follow countless rules and regulations. Our supervisory authority, the Swedish Medical Products Agency, checks that we meet the requirements specified in our wholesale permit.

The European GDP (Good Distribution Practice) (PDF-document) standard defines Tamro's level in key areas and ensures correct handling of goods. Our employees are specially trained in this standard, and attend regular refresher courses.

GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) regulates our repacking activities.

GCP (Good Clinical Practice) (PDF-document) regulates our warehousing services and distribution of clinical tests.

We also have our own business system, which is applied throughout the company and supports our quality efforts.

Tamro conducts ongoing development activities aimed at systematically improving and refining our services and processes. We also conduct long-term efforts to promote staff involvement and develop staff expertise.

A vital part of our improvement efforts consists of maintaining a dialogue with customers. We conduct regular customer surveys to follow up our work and monitor our performance in meeting customers' requirements and expectations.

We also gain valuable feedback from regular inspections and checks carried out by our clients, and from other internal and external quality audits linked to our permits, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
